Frequently Asked Questions

The Science & Technology

Q: What exactly is Photobiomodulation (Light) Therapy?

A: Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a non-invasive technique using specific light wavelengths to stimulate cellular energy (ATP) and reduce oxidative stress. It’s a science-backed approach to helping your body perform its natural recovery and wellness processes more efficiently.

Q: Does it hurt? Is it safe?

A: It is completely painless and non-invasive. You simply relax while the light is applied. It is extremely safe, with decades of clinical research supporting its use. Safety glasses are always provided during your session.

Q: How is this different from the commercial red/infrared light therapy studios popping up in my area?

A: The Firefly Pro is fundamentally more advanced and powerful than what you see at standard commercial red light studios, franchise "wellness pods," or spas.

When you see standard red light therapy options popping up in the mainstream market, they generally rely on large, flat LED panels or full-body beds. While these are great for surface-level skin health, they lack the technical capability to do what the Firefly Pro does. The differences come down to three major factors:

  1. True Penetration Depth vs. Surface-Level Exposure: Most commercial franchise beds or hang-on-the-wall panels emit divergent, lower-intensity light. This energy is absorbed almost entirely by the top layers of your skin (the dermis and epidermis). It is highly effective for collagen production and superficial muscle relaxation, but it stops there. The Firefly Pro is engineered as a high-intensity, clinical-grade tool designed specifically to drive photons up to 8 inches deep into the body. This allows the energy to safely reach deep-seated structural systems, major joints, internal organs, and the central nervous system—areas a standard commercial panel simply cannot affect.

  2. Multi-Spectral Power (8 Wavelengths vs. 1 or 2): The vast majority of standard studios use devices that output only one or two wavelengths—typically standard Red (around 660nm) and Near-Infrared (around 850nm). The Firefly Pro is a multi-spectral system utilizing 8 distinct wavelengths simultaneously (spanning the blue, red, and near-infrared spectrums). Because different tissues and cellular structures respond to different light frequencies, delivering 8 wavelengths at once means you are triggering multiple distinct pathways of cellular energy production (ATP) and systemic support in a single session.

  3. "One-Size-Fits-All" vs. Personalized Frequency Mapping: When you walk into a typical red light salon, you flip a switch, the panel turns on, and you receive the exact same output, at the exact same frequency, as the person who used it before you. It is entirely standardized. This is where the integration of our F-Scan technology completely separates our center from the competition. Instead of guessing, the F-Scan protocol maps how your unique body is responding to frequencies in real-time. This allows the Firefly Pro to be adjusted to a bio-individual profile tailored specifically to your vitality goals.

What to Expect & Safety

Q: How many sessions will I need to see results?

A: While many clients report feeling a distinct shift in tissue comfort, localized circulation, or mental clarity after just a single session, photobiomodulation is a cumulative therapy. For localized discomfort or sports recovery, a baseline of 3 to 6 sessions close together is often recommended. For systemic vitality, gut wellness, or long-term neuro-cognitive support, consistent weekly sessions yield the most profound, sustainable results.

Q: Are there any contraindications for using the Firefly Pro?

A: Photobiomodulation is exceptionally safe and non-invasive. However, as a certified wellness center, we maintain strict safety protocols. This modality should not be used until at least 2 weeks after a recent brain bleed (such as from a concussion, stroke, etc.), and obtaining a doctor's note for clearance is always required in this situation. PBM should also not be used directly over an active known malignant tumor, directly over the abdomen of a pregnant individual, or if you take medications that cause extreme photosensitivity. If you have specific medical concerns, we always recommend consulting your physician before starting any new wellness modality.

Booking & Packages

Q: How do I book my discounted sessions?

A: As a "Founding Member," you will receive priority onboarding before we open to the general public. One week prior to our official grand opening, we will send an exclusive email link to all of our crowdfunding backers. This will give you early access to our digital onboarding system and calendar, allowing you to create your profile and secure your preferred session times before the general public booking lines open.

Q: Can I share a session package with a family member?

A: Sharing depends entirely on the specific tier you choose:

  • Individual Packages: Individual tiers (including the Founding Light package) are designed as a unified experience for one person and cannot be shared.

  • Shared Packages: The Small Business/Family package can be shared among up to five (5) designated people, and the Legacy Founder package can be shared among up to six (6) designated people.

For all eligible shared packages, simply let us know who will be sharing your account when we send out your digital onboarding paperwork before opening.

Q: Do these pre-purchased crowdfunding packages expire?

A: No. All of our pre-sale packages (including individual bundles and group packages) will have a full 12-month promotional redemption window from our official grand opening date, with the sole exception of our "Legacy Package,"which features an extended 18-month window. No matter which package you choose, you will never lose your investment. If you have unused sessions after your initial 12 or 18-month promotional period, the remaining dollar value left on your account will simply be applied as a credit toward our standard menu pricing at the time of your booking.

Q: Can I use Insurance or HSA/FSA?

A: ThriveLight provides non-medical wellness services and is a self-pay facility. While we do not process insurance, many clients find that their HSA/FSA administrators accept wellness receipts for light therapy. We recommend checking with your specific provider; we are happy to provide an itemized receipt for your records.

Campaign & Refund Policies

Q: What happens if the grand opening is delayed?

A: Our targeted grand opening is on track for later this year. Because we are building this center from the ground up, our exact timeline depends on three critical milestones: successfully reaching our crowdfunding goal to secure the Firefly Pro equipment, finalizing a welcoming commercial space, and fully testing our booking software to ensure a seamless client experience. While these moving pieces can occasionally shift, we are committed to absolute transparency and will post regular updates directly to our campaign page to keep you informed of our progress. Rest assured, your promotional session codes will not activate until the day our doors officially open, and your promotional redemption window will only begin then.

Q: What is your refund policy for crowdfunding packages?

A: To help you back our vision with confidence, we offer a 7-day refund window from the date of your initial purchase. Because these pre-sale funds are immediately budgeted toward securing our commercial space and ordering our Firefly Pro equipment, all campaign contributions become completely non-refundable after those first 7 days have passed. If an unexpected life event prevents you from utilizing your package down the road, your sessions are 100% transferable—you are welcome to gift or sell your package to a friend or family member!
